Pics and thoughts from The Grove

We will give this a try and see how it works....

So this what you see at about 7:30 a.m. the morning of the game. All these tents were set up at Midnight the night before. Honestly, only our tent and one other tent we saw went up in the morning. There was still a little bit of space to have set up a couple more, but not much. I cannot imagine the insanity of setting up in the pitch black with that sort of crowd. My wife and I got down there at 5:45am to set up, so we did set up in the dark, but we were alone at least :-)

Here is a shot of one of the MANY ridiculously fancy tailgates. And yes, that is an ice sculpture of Colonel Reb. That was pretty early on in the morning, the Colonel did not look so good by the afternoon when the heat and humidity skyrocketed, but to his credit, his head never fell off before the game :-). The folks in this tent and the tents around us were remarkable, even going to get coffee for my wife and refusing money...and this was Starbucks we are talking about here. The people could not have been more accommodating.

This is seriously just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the women who come to the games. And remember, Ole Miss only has a student body less than half the size of Mizzou, but their ratio of good looking women is off the charts. We parked on the street in between the DG and Tri-Delt House...you can only imagine. Actually...you cannot imagine. It is almost strange how good looking and well-dressed everyone was.

And finally, believe it or not, yes, that is a shot of Mizzou Sanity friend John Anderson. When we found John, he was taking it all in for sure. This was right before the Walk of Champions, a pretty cool tradition of the team marching straight through The Grove from the Student Union to the Stadium about 2 hours before the game. Even with all the Ole Miss fans congregated and well into partying, we did not find many who would mouth us or say an unkind word.

All in all, an amazing trip and a place any true College Football fan needs to visit regardless of whether your team is playing there or not.
